Balzac himself compared the Chateau d'Azay-le-Rideau to a diamond set in the waters of the Indre River.
Just as the Chateau d'Azay-le-Rideau has seven rooms, the perfume bearing its name consists of seven main notes. The top note of this floral-oriental composition is a combination of vanilla, amber and sandalwood. Then the perfume reveals very delicate notes of lily of the valley and ripe plum. Finally it wraps in a delicious freshness of mandarin and jasmine.
